In a bold move, the Stargazer Cannabis Festival, set for July 25-27, 2025, in Waverly, Ohio, is making waves by offering five lucky individuals $1,000 each to smoke cannabis and judge its inaugural Cannabis Cup. Hosted at the scenic Adventures on the River, this three-day event spans over 70 acres of lush woodlands, blending cannabis culture with music, art, and community. Unlike traditional competitions, no experience is required just a passion for marijuana. Consequently, this inclusive approach broadens the appeal, inviting everyday enthusiasts to participate.

The Cannabis Cup: A Novel Judging Experience

Moreover, the Stargazer Cannabis Cup stands out by selecting judges through a random drawing, open to anyone 21 and older. Selected judges receive a curated product kit, free festival admission, and the $1,000 payment. They’ll evaluate entries in categories like Best Flower, Best Edible, and Best Pre-Roll. Culminating in a “Best in Show” winner who claims a $2,500 prize and the coveted Stargazer trophy. Additionally, Ohio cultivators can enter products for $50. These fun factors have the organizers hoping to attract out-of-state entries to elevate the competition.

Beyond the Cup: A Vibrant Festival Experience

Meanwhile, the festival offers more than just the Cannabis Cup. Attendees can explore a farmers’ market with over 100 vendors. While there enjoy live music, participate in joint-rolling contests, and attend workshops on home-growing and cannabis cooking. For instance, Snoop Dogg’s blunt roller, Ranagade PerRana, will lead a workshop and judge the rolling contest. Furthermore, plans to break the world record for the largest pot brownie over 1,300 pounds add to the excitement. Afroman will also host a cannabis-infused wedding, enhancing the festival’s quirky charm.

A Growing Cannabis Culture in Ohio

Since Ohio legalized recreational cannabis in August 2024, events like Stargazer have flourished. With the state generating over $434 million in sales, the festival not only celebrates this boom but also supports advocacy for sensible marijuana laws. Therefore, Stargazer is more than a festival it’s a cultural milestone.
