The Super Bowl of professional wrestling, WrestleMania 41, is literally just hours away. Still, you couldn’t tell that because fans believe some of the talent is killing whatever hype is being generated by the eyebrow-raising comments they are making.
Fans of the WWE are currently criticizing the sports entertainment company because some of its superstars and the current Chief Content Officer had to comment on Felon 47, also known as Donald Trump.
The WWE has always had a MAGA problem, which many fans seem willing to overlook in order to enjoy their favorite professional wrestlers doing their thing in the ring, but heading into WrestleMania 41, that seemingly is no longer the case.
On Thursday, fans of popular WWE superstar Roman Reigns were not pleased with what they read in a Vanity Fair feature. While admitting that he is a Democrat, he also claimed that Donald Trump was the “clear choice” for him over former Vice President Kamala Harris.
Per Vanity Fair:
Anoa’i is a registered Democrat, but he considers himself a centrist. In the most recent election, however, he says the choice was “very clear.”
“One person was giving us information. One person was answering questions, so it wasn’t that hard,” he says.
When I ask if that means that he backed Trump, Anoa’i pauses for a few seconds.
“I support our president. Trump is one of those guys where he’s got a vast history and a huge background. He’s been in entertainment. He’s been in big business, politics. At this point, I’m supporting a bright future for our country. Positive and competent leadership. For us to be what we’re supposed to be—to be a world leader and carry that respect and do what a world power like us should be doing.”
Oof.
Triple H Gives Rare Praise To Trump
Then the WWE’s Chief Content Officer, Paul Levesque, also known as Triple H, praised Donald Trump during a recent episode of The Flagrant podcast, calling the president a “genius.”
“I think Trump’s ability as an orator – like him or hate him – the way he does it, he’s charismatic in so many ways, ” Levesque said.
He continued, “I think he likes getting under people’s skin. I think he likes generating heat the way he does. It’s amazing and it’s genius and it worked in our business. Do I think he got that from our business? I think he innately understands that. It’s been his whole life.”
His nauseating glazing continued, “There’s a lot of billionaires in the world – why was he the most famous one? Why was he the one that was in People Magazine every week and with everybody under the sun? Why was he seen as the epitome of that billionaire status? Because of his charisma and his character and who he is, and the way he can speak about it and do all those things. He just captivates people.”
We can’t forget that Levesque proudly sat behind his mother-in-law, Linda McMahon, during her confirmation hearing to become the Trump administration’s nominee for Secretary of Education, despite her being highly unqualified for the position, essentially making her a DEI hire.
Other WWE Superstars Who Love Donald Trump
Roman Reigns and Triple H are not the only superstars high on Trump, WWE Hall-of-Famer Undertaker was joined by his fake brother Glenn Jacobs, aka Kane, who is now the Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee, in endorsing Trump for president.
Logan Paul along with his brother, professional boxer Jake Paul are also on the MAGA train as well.
Other Awkward Comments From WWE Stars That Have Fans Questioning Their Fandom
John Cena, who is currently on his “farewell tour,” and is headlining Wrestlemania 41 with his match against current WWE Undisputed Champion Cody Rhodes, left fans rolling their eyes when he said he still has love for the company’s problematic disgraced former chairman, Vince McMahon.
“I don’t care who hears it: I love Vince, “Cena said in New York Times profile. “I’m not downplaying anything that needs to be decided or allegations of any kind, but when I love somebody, I love them wholeheartedly.”
Cena added: “I know people are going to be angry about that, but they can’t put their value on my relationship with somebody I love.”
These people don’t know how to read a room whatsoever.
Anyway, fans have been clowning the WWE and it’s superstars for their comments that are seemingly sucking all the fun out of two-night spectacle.
